I feel like I’m circling around. Slowly slipping to the dark center. Wait. No. I’m just lost on a roundabout. Again.
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

I want this to be on my drive to work.

I guess that was a needlessly roundabout way to say that, I probably could have just clicked the star

ever feel like you’re running as hard as you can but ultimately all you are doing is running in circles?

At my elementary school, yes. I remember (it was a while ago), but a mile around the gym was something like 30 laps.

Round a Bounds!
That 4th one looks like the entrance to the VW plant in Chattanooga.

Or the Canadian version, a roundaboot.

Oh god this looks absolutely terrible. What’s stopping people from plowing right through the middle? Nothing, that’s what.

You can’t have a gratuitous roundabout thread without these.

That’s probably the majority of roundabouts in the UK. If you’re going straight and there’s nobody around, you can sort of just plow right through, but if there’s traffic you yield and take it slower.
I love driving over there.

Social norms don’t stop that one asshole in his black Mercedes-Benz C200 with his bluetooth tailgating you until you stop at the light only for him to creep up to your right because he wants to turn and he doesn’t want to wait and then he drives on the sidewalk only to get stuck behind a fire hydrant and he screams and the light turns green and you go off and he’s still trapped because there were loads of cars behind him and he has to wait more because he can’t move because there are loads of cars behind him and he gets angrier because he sees a Berlinetta Boxer drive past and he’s always loved them but his dad never shared his love for the Berlinetta Boxer and he’s always felt disconnected with him because of it and seeing one on the road bring back painful memories of his dad ignoring him when he wanted to play catch in the yard and that traumatized him greatly because all he’s ever wanted was his dad’s approval so he acts lavishly just so that his dad can say those four simple words “I’m proud of you” but he never says it so he’s just going to live a dark, lonely, miserable life until his dad passes away and then he will off himself in a dimly-lit apartment with SNL playing in the background.
Yeah, that roundabout sucks.

This wouldn’t work where I live. People would just drive through the middle.

Nothing. Roundabouts make a lot of sense compared to junctions and intersections and greatly improve traffic flow. But we’ve been brought up with roundabouts and how to use them.

No I love roundabouts. They are cool and make sense to me, but the ones you posted look like crazy hellish places!

They can be if you don’t know what your doing but in real time on the road, you go up to them a little cautiously but once you’ve done it you wonder why you got worried about it.

Like I just don’t understand why the middle two there are not just big roundabouts.

With all but the bottom roundabout which has traffic lights to help regulate the flow, the others are about traffic density. If you can get a vehicle off the roundabout quickly you free up space for other traffic. Say I wanted to go from junction A to junction B two junctions to my right, I can get there quicker taking the two mini roundabouts than if I go all the way round all the others to get to it.
